Mission Statement

The mission of Team Indiana Elite is to provide a group training environment and key living, training, and support resources for committed, elite distance runners, with a goal of helping athletes make national teams and achieve international success. 

Team Indiana Elite is based in Bloomington, Indiana and receives significant financial and logistical support from Brooks and Indiana University.

5/23/09 DEREK SCOTT RUNS 3:57.87 MILE

Derek Scott ran his first sub 4 minute mile at the Big River Festival of Miles meet in St. Louis. Scott was second to Leo Manzano, 2008 US olympian at 1500m. Jordan Fife also ran finishing at 4:02.30.

5/7/09 JORDAN FIFE FINISHES 5TH AT THE USA ROAD MILE CHAMPIONSHIPS

In the first ever USA Road Mile championships, Jordan Fife finishes 5th with a time of 4:08.6. The race was held Thusday night, May 7, in Minneapolis, MN. This is Jordan's highest finish at a USATF championship race.

5/2/09 JEFF POWERS AND CAMILLE HERRON SET NEW BESTS AT THE INDIANAPOLIS MINI MARATHON

Powers and Herron both finish as top Indiana residents in the Indianapolis half marathon and set new personal bests. Jeff ran 1:05:07, while Camille ran 1:16:54.

5/2/09 DEREK SCOTT AND JORDN FIFE RUN QUALIFYING MARKS AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY

Derek and Jordan both ran just off their personal best times at the Payton Jordan Invite over the weekend. With these times, both are now qualified in two events for the USA Outdoor Championships. Derek ran 3:42.9 in the 1500 meters while Jordan ran 8:37.4 in the 3,000m Steeplechase.

5/3/09 CAMILLE HERRON RUNNING WELL

Camille Herron has been running and winning on the roads during her spring racing circuit. First, she won the Anthem 5k on March 7th in 17:20. She followed that up with a win at the Rhodes City Run 10K on March 21st, finishing with a new personal best of 35:04. To keep the winning trend alive she set another personal best at the Papa John's 10 miler with a time of 58:54, good enough for first.

4/27/09 T.I.E. RUNNERS GET READY FOR A BIG RACE WEEKEND

Team members will be looking for qualifying marks this weekend as the men's groups travels to Palo Alto, CA to race at Stanford University. Stephen Haas and Trent Hoerr will be running the 10,000m, Scott Overall in the 5,000m, Jordan Fife in the 3,000m Steeplechase, and Derek Scott will be running the 1500m. Dani Prince and Camille Herron will both compete in the Indianapolis Mini Marathon.

4/24/09 DANI PRINCE WINS THE HILLSDALE GINA RELAYS 10,000M

Dani Prince ran a solo effort winning the Hillsdale Gina Relays 10k in 35:30.59. Dani pulled away from the leaders around the halfway mark before finishing with a new personal best. She will be running the Indianapolis Mini Marathon next weekend on May 2.

4/17/09 JORDAN FIFE RUN'S A P.R. OF 13:41.64

Running at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, CA Jordan Fife cut 7 seconds off his 5k best. Fife finished 23rd in a deep field at 13:41.64. His time is a qualifying mark for the USA Championships held in June. Scott Overall also raced finishing 11th in 13:34.29. The time is just off his best of 13:28, but good enough for his fastest season opener.

4/7/09 FLAGSTAFF ALTITUDE TRAINING CAMP

The Team Indiana Elite Men returned back to Bloomington, IN on April 7th after a 6 week stay in Flagstaff Arizona. The men lived and trained at 7,000ft elevation. Treadmill testing was done pre and post trip to measure changes in breathing and V02 max. This was the second year of the training camp.

3/29/09 SHAMROCK SHUFFLE RESULTS

Camille Herron, Dani Prince and Jessica Gall all competed in the Shamrock Shuffle 8k, held on a snowy day in downtown Chicago, IL. The women finished 4th overall in the Elite Club Competition with a combined time of 1:30.45.

3/27/09 DEREK SCOTT RUNS 13:47.28 AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY

Derek Scott set a new personal record in the 5,000m at Stanford University with a time of 13:47.28. The time betters the qualifying standard for the USA Track and Field Championships set at 13:52. Jeff Powers also ran the 10,000m finishing in 29:03.05.

3/1/09 USA INDOOR RESULTS

T.IE athletes run well at USA Indoor Championships. Ty Davis advanced to the finals of the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.47 and finished 4th overall in the event with a time of 2:06.30. Jordan Fife finished 7th in a tactical 1500m with a time of 3:48.43. In the 3,000m Stephen Haas finished 7th in 8:02.11 while Jeff Powers was 10th in 8:04.56.
